Participants: L. Amodo, N. Caliyo, C. Estorquia, J. Fonacier, E. Gaspacho-Martinez, J. Hilario-Garan, G. Taburico-Salvado, M. Velazquez
C. Estorquia reported on the meeting with the Class of 2001 and the ASJ Director
A. Details of the 3 day event reviewed.
B. Venue for the March 7 Gala Night tentatively set at the ASJ Auditorium which is deemed bigger that the Claveria
Gymnasium although it is not fully covered and there may be issues if it rains on that night. New tables and chairs
arrangement may improve the space availability of the venue.
C. Update on the Fundraising total given. New contributions received.
D. Raffle draw discussed. Batch 76 will be given 40 % of the total tickets to sell. Tickets totalling P3,000,000.00 to be
printed and distributed. This Raffle Draw is the project of Class 2001. Proceeds will be donated to ASJ.
Class of 1976 will get a percentage from their sales.
N. Caliyo voiced the concern of US batchmates about sending donations early. A follow up letter will be sent this coming week to batchmates detailing the purpose of the fundraising and assuring them of the safety and later a full financial report on the collected funds and how they will be disbursed to fund the cost of the celebration and to fund a worthy ASJ project.
Designs for the T-shirts to be printed discussed. G. Taburico-Salvado will put choices for a vote on the August meeting.
Members were enjoined to keep the preparations for the reunion a fun journey, minimize upsets and not be stressed with obsessing on hard to attain expectations but instead focus on the goal of the reunion which is to bring back classmates together for a happy celebration of a meaningful and rewarding milestone event in our lives, our 50th Class Anniversary.
July 2, 2025 Online Organizing Committee Meeting
Participants: N. Caliyo, C. Estorquia, J. Fonacier, J. Hilario-Garan, M. Corpuz-Mabanag, G. Taburico-Salvado, M. Velazquez
Updates reviewed
A. All letters of invitation sent to all batchmates. Minimal feedback received. Batchmates in contact have verbally
signified their attendance.
B. A follow up letter will be sent to all batchmates in 2 months' time. Confirmation or declination of attendance will
be included in the letter.
C. Letter of Invitation to former teachers to be sent. Verbal communication with them will be done.
D. Follow up for contributions/donations/fund raising emphasized.
E. Batch 2001 Silver Jubilarians have forwarded to the ASJ Director their planned Program of Activies for the March 5-
7, 2026 ASJ Reunion. A meeting with the Director is scheduled for Thursday June 3, 2025. Class of 1976 members
Cora Estorquia, Melody Corpuz-Mabanag and Marvin Velasquez will join the meeting.
F. It was stressed that the Golden Jubilarians very much prefer to hold the March 7 Gala Night Program in the
Claveria Gymnasium because this venue can accommodate the expected number of guests with room to spare.
This venue is not only bigger. It is also more comfortable, air conditioned and well covered. The ASJ Auditorium is a
much smaller venue and not well covered. Previous reunion programs in here have always been very crowded and
uncomfortable. The Class of 1976 are volunteering to shoulder the cost of venue for this program.
Another Online Meeting is scheduled for the 3rd or 4th week of July. Date to be announced. Representatives of CI, CSAT and CRVH will join the meeting.
Meeting with members of Batch 2001 still to be scheduled.
Individual batchmates will write profiles for our classmates who have passed away to give details as tribute to them. Anyone/Everyone can contribute to the ones they are close to. Write ups can be sent by email to our class emails. Alternatively anyone can also upload descriptions/stories/photos in this website by writing on the message box in the Requiem Page. We urge everyone to contribute to the write ups.
May 15, 2025 Online Organizing Committee Meeting
Meeting to determine cost per participant postponed to next week.
Meeting with Batch 2001 Silver Jubilarians expected towards end of May.
Invitation letters sent to local classmates and US, Canada based batchmates. Awaiting feedback. Letter of Invitation to our former teachers to be sent out.
Confirmed attendees to date around 60 ASJ, CSAT about 5, CI about 5, CRVHS about 5. We aim to reach an attendance of 100 to 120.
It was agreed that batchmates will write their own personal profiles to be posted here on the class website. This is to let our friends know more about our own life stories to catch up for the years we blazed life on our own. Each one can relate their own narratives in their own style in English, Tagalog or Ilocano whatever you are comfortable with. Any style will be welcome. Some might just want to fill up a pro forma sheet which will be available here to bullet point their stories.
It was pointed out that any member of the Organizing Committee can voice out any pertinent concern and call for a meeting going forward to optimize achieving success for our class projects.
No other business concerns raised.
